i said he was doing good this year when he beat carolina and then the colts
what i did not say is we need to put him in the hall of fame right now
here is my offical prediction for Romo next year:
next year Romo could suck or he could play really good...i am hoping for really good...crazy prediction i know...

You know very well you said he was an elite quarterback, and while I think he'll be good I do not think he will be elite atleast not after next year but he like all young quarterbacks have a chance to get to that status.

the word "elite" is very subjective...and i don't remeber saying that but maybe i did...
if i did then i can see as how he made the pro bowl you could say that this year he was one of the NFL's "elite"..?
or i guess you could say that the word 'elite" comes after a full career of super bowls and what not...like i said that word is subjective...

The third QB Pro Bowl spot this year was a joke nobody really deserved it, but Romo was playing better than the rest so he got in. About elite no matter how subjective it is after a year and a half you can't call any QB an elite QB.

i dissagree...last year you say that Big Ben was elite and I think you could say the same about Brady the first year he won the super bowl...jmo
i guess you take the word 'elite" as meaning "hall of famer"...

I never called Ben elite, I had him in the top 10 because of how consistent he was but not elite, the only quarterbacks that I consider elite are Peyton Manning, Carson Palmer, Tom Brady, Drew Brees and McNabb when healthy. Do I think Romo is going to get to those players levels by the end of next year no, does he have a chance if he proves he can do it year in year out definitely.

PT ~ Personally I don't see why Tony was selected for the Pro Bowl but there again. I think the ProBowl selections should not even be held until after the Playoffs or at least after the POs Teams have been selected. During the time Romo was selected, he was playing good football but shortly after that, things started to turn for DaBoyz and they began to stink up the place. Maybe Romo wasn't the entire fault of that but given what they did this Season, I wouldn't have selected him for the ProBowl. Actually, the only Player on Dallas that I would consider, is probably Witten and/or Ware.
As for Tony Romo being elite. Well I for one loved the way he came in and fired up this Team from word go. (Well except the 1st Giants Game) but there the Giants had already beaten us to the ground and he was overly excited. His poise during the Panther's game was impressive and he also stepped up to the plate during the Colts' game. All of that showed me that Romo will be a great QB and I have confidence in him.
This boy has the skills, drive and determination to be guide this Team. But the Team as a whole is lacking and until that is fixed, the QB gets the attention more than any other. When it comes time to point fingers, it's usually the QB and/or HC. I'm saying without hesitation Parcells should not be the Head Coach for this Team (period). If we took a Poll and it was 99 to 1 (me) for Parcells to stay, I'd still hold to that belief that Parcells didn't show me anything this Season or any other Season since he's been there, that he has what this Team needs for good decision making.
Even if it comes to his ability to place guys where they are best suited, he has lacked. And Parcells is probably the most One Dimensional thinkers in the League. He has a game plan going in and if it's not working he doesn't change up, he sticks with a losing battle til the end.
Romo is very good leaning towards someday great but no where near Elite right now. I'd keep him in as QB1 for sure but I'd also take the Crown off his head for now. The most disappointing thing after all was said and done, is that Parcells & Owens are coming abck next Season. I was so hoping both of them would take a walk. But Terrell has nowhere to go, because nobody wants him and JJ is way too stupid to cut his losses and pull in a Star Receiver from the Draft and develop him.

whoops, I miss worded again...ment to say this...
"i dissagree...last year you COULD say that Big Ben was elite and I think you could say the same about Brady the first year he won the super bowl...jmo"
my bad...I was trying to say that a person COULD say that last year Ben played at an elite status and the same goes for Brady his first year...and someone could also say that Romo played at an elite status last year depending on how you use the word "elite"....
to me: elite = top 5 or 6 QB
to you: elite = history of super bowl wins?...or better than what i think anyway...

I think you have this backwards, of the quarterbacks I consider elite only Brady has a Super Bowl win and there were five quarterbacks that I listed.

1.Peyton
2.Brady
3.Brees
what other 2? Bulger and Rivers?...would Romo at least make #6 on your list?
