Henry possibly moving to FS
Star-Telegram.com | 01/12/2007 | Cowboys cornerback might move to free safety
Quote:
Cornerback Anthony Henry might be moving to free safety, according to Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.
During his weekly radio show on KTCK/1310 AM The Ticket, Jones said the switch was a possibility and the 6-foot-1, 208 pound Henry has played the position before. A four-year starter for South Florida, Henry spent his first three years at free safety before moving to cornerback as a senior. He also played free safety in high school.

If Henry is moved, the Cowboys will be in the market for a cornerback.

I hope he doesnt mean draft a CB in round 1
Make sure you Rep Manster, he called it a couple weeks ago.
If they are going to look for a CB, I hope they go hard for Samuel. That will be one expensive secondary tho, Newman is probobly going to get a bigger contract then Samuel or Clements

If Henry does move to FS, I would think they would draft another corner because like you said grunt that is just a ton of money they would have in the secondary between Roy Williams, Newman and the free agent but you never know with JJ.

I really dont want them to draft a CB in the first. Thier is the chance he can turn out to be a stud from day one, but chances are he's just going to get picked on. I would rather they bite the bullet and sign someone like Samuel who would be a quality starter from day 1. I still like Watkins, and when the secondary becomes too expensive, Henry could be cut and Watkins could take over.
Just my take on it, but like you said, you never know

Thanks man.
I am not sure they will go after anyon in FA there are not that many good ones out there and they will cost alot. Dallas does have Aaron Glenn Who I think is a good 3rd CB they also have Reeves and Jones. They also did sign Joey Thomas a guy Dallas wanted to drafted a few years ago. They are high on Reeves but I think they might draft a guy around the 2nd-4th round. Dallas has been wanting to get a FS in FA the past two years and have been shot down guys getting to much money maybe JJ thinks he can get a second teir CB that could play better than the FS could have.
I will still throw out the names Nate CLemens from the Bills he has been around awhile and they already have his replacement and Brian Russel FS from the Browns. Dallas could keep Henry at CB and give Watkins another year or two to get read.

The one thing about Clements is that he is going to cost way more than what he is worth, he got franchised last year, so he is going to expect top 5 money, Samuel very well could too, but IDK if he has the leverage Clements has. IMO if we go after Samuel we should try to get him before Clements inks a deal. Rickey Manning is another guy that will be available. And keep in mind Newman will probobly get top 5 money if he inks an extention. IMO if they get a top end guy, then Henry probobly wont be a Cowboy past 2008

If you are talking Ricky Manning from the Bears he is not available, he signed a five year deal last year.

Moving him to safety might be best for him if we do get a quality corner, but the key to this offseason is getting another rusher to go along with Ware.
