DALLAS (AP) -- Dallas Cowboys safety Keith Davis was shot twice while driving on a Dallas highway early Sunday and was hospitalized in stable condition after undergoing surgery to remove bullet fragments.

His agent, Curtis Stephens, said the injuries were minor and that Davis expected to be released late Sunday or Monday.

"He's going to fully recover and he's in good spirits," Stephens said. "Everything is being done on a precautionary basis. Two physicians both gave him a thumbs up. ... If camp opened tomorrow, he'd like to think he'd be there tomorrow."

seems kinda funny that he has been shot twice in the last couple years, and both times had nothing to do with anything he did..... either he's full of crap, or he's got a terrible knack to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

He was a starting saftey last year, but a weak link. He is projected to start this this year, unless Watkins or Beleruit tear it up in camp and preseason (and I hope to God they do) Davis is an outstanding ST player tho, so even if he loses his job he still has value

Best of luck to him but I dont think he will play this year. Gun shots are something that I would guess would take some time to get over.
