Default Hennson, Shanle out

Dallas has made some moves one of them is trading Shanle to the saints for a fourth round pick. I think that is a good trade since he was more than likely going to be cut. BP also said that Hennson will not be on the 53 man roster so it like they are gong to release him or try and trade him.

i don't think they will be able to trade Hennson. I mean what team would give anything up for someone that is already not going to make the roster?

ESPN reported it was 4th round pick in return..thought that was a little high for Shanle..

Nick Eatman is confirming that it's a 7th pick for Shanle..not sure if it's Unconditional or conditional.

Per KFFL:

Default End of Cowboys career 'a good day'

Drew Henson called it a good day, which says about everything one needs to know about his previous days with the Cowboys.

The former Michigan quarterback and New York Yankees third baseman, who came to the Cowboys in 2004 as the latest Next Troy Aikman, will not be on the roster in 2006. The Cowboys are seeking a trade but will likely have to release Henson.

"Today is a good day in my mind," Henson said in a phone interview. "I have a lot to offer teams. I'm healthy and 26, and more motivated than I've ever been....I'm looking forward to what comes next."

Henson basically has been pushed aside -- for rookie free-agent Matt Baker -- in the past two weeks. He wasn't practicing with the third team, and he didn't take a single snap in either of the first two preseason games.

Parscells never really had any faith in Henson, so this doesnt surprise me at all. I dont think it was a mistake to go after Henson, as he was considered a potential top pick in college. I think with another team, and another coach he probobly could have been a starter.

Default Cowboys trade LB, waive four others

The Cowboys returned to work at their Valley Ranch headquarters with a wild Wednesday of roster moves.

Reserve linebacker Scott Shanle was traded to the New Orleans Saints for a seventh-round draft pick in 2007. Shanle, who started eight games last season, was expected to be moved because of the team's depth at the position. He reunites with former Cowboys linebackers coach and new Saints defensive coordinator Gary Gibbs.

The Cowboys also waived four players, including guard and former third-round pick Stephen Peterman. Two of the Cowboys' top three picks from 2004 -- offensive tackle Jacob Rogers was the other -- have been released.

All they have said is that he will not be on the Cowboys 53 man roster. They have not stated how he will be removed. It could be he is already traded that they are waiting to finish the deal, he could be placed on some sort of injured list, or they are waiting for a certain date so because of the contract.
