The whole thing is being overblown. Owens didn`t want to practice or play in meaningless pre-season games, so he did what T.O. does. He is like a spoiled little child. Basically he held his breath, while all the "lesser" players practiced in intense heat. Now that preseason is over, he will be back to work next week, and all will be forgiven. Did you see the smile on his face, when told he wouldn`t be able to play in week 4 of the preseason, if he didn`t practice? Threatening to keep him out of pre-season games is such a joke. It`s like threatening to suspend someone WITH pay! "You mean I don`t have to work AND I still get paid?" Nice. He got what he wanted. In his mind, we won this battle. Next week, when it all counts, T.O. will go out and practice and he will look greaat doing it. The thing that drives us all nuts...he is a terrible person, but a great football player. He knows his value, his worth...so he pushes his limits. I laugh when everyone says this is his last chance. As long as he is a top 3 WR, he will always find another team willing to throw money at him.

Let me rant on Parcells for a minute. Ever wonder why Belichick turned down the Jets job? Back when Parcells was the Giants head coach, there were rumors that he was going to retire at season`s end. He kept denying it, and afterall, he is a man who demands "honor", and "discipline" ( i love when a big fat blob preaches discipline). At the end of the season, he was still undecided. If he retired, Belichick would`ve been first in line for the job, but Billy Boy wanted no part of that. No way was he going to let the boy genius show him up. So Parcells hung around and hung around, until Bill couldn`t wait any longer. As soon as Belichick took the Browns job, Parcells retired! Giants fans were stuck with Ray Handley, and Belichick was stuck in Cleveland. Oh yeah, ask Falcons fans, and Bucs fans what kind of honor Parcells has. He agreed to coach both teams, only to back out at the last minute and leave them scrambling to hire coaches. One those teams, maybe even both, had scheduled press conferences to announce Parcells as coach, only to be stood up at the altar. So, maybe in some dark, twisted way, Parcells and Owens are indeed a match made in heavan...or that other place.

NYG I know what your saying and agree.
However TO sets a piss poor example for the rest of the players. Not to mention it not right or fair. Elitism ruins morale.

BU54, I am definitely not saying it`s right or fair. T.O. is a disease that will surely end up infecting the team.

NYG again I know what your saying. I think he's infected/tarnished the NFL.
