Cowboys Mailbag: Increased depth has teams seeking trades with Cowboys
Jerry Jones' phone has been ringing off the hook lately, a sure sign the Cowboys finally have some talent on their roster.
"My first two years here you couldn't get a call from anybody," Bill Parcells said, referring to his team's improved depth. "We have people interested in trading for several of our players. I don't know what will happen. We're not going to trade all of them, but they're interested."
The added talent is particularly noticeable at linebacker.
Scott Shanle, who started eight games last season and is a special teams ace, didn't have a chance to make the team so the Cowboys shipped him to the Saints for a seventh-round pick in 2007.

i do not see anyone else getting traded, i dont care how much depth there is on this team, the reason is that Parcells wants to win a super bowl this season or the next and the way to win one now is not to trade away talent

Their 4th or 5th WR could start for the Eagles. DE Coleman is the odd man out of a numbers game while he is not a great starter he is solid and a good backup. They have Sean Ryan a TE who I dont think will make the team this year could make some ones team as 3rd TE. They have 9 LBs that could make anyones team plus young guys in Hoyet, Glymph that at worst they will try and get on the PS. And it might be hard for people to believe but some teams have asked about the Cowboys OL players. They have 5 tackles that could make the roster.

While the Oline is a weakness, we do have depth their. Especially if Al Johnson wins the center job

you have depth at a weakness spot, now that is funny. that means you have alot of crappy players their, crappy but a lot of 'em, LOL. Also Sean Ryan got traded. Jamaica whatever and the other guy couldn't start for any team let alone the eagles. Crayton is a bum. He had like two good games last year and one was the first game of the year. Oline is terrible, I don't care how deep it is. LB's are deep, but that is hardly a deep TEAM. Safeties will continue to struggle in coverage. Coleman might be suspended. Ellis doesn't even want to be there.

You rip on Rector and Hurd, yet you rave about Baskett

At Least baskett has shown some ability to play with the first team, even though he will lucky to be fourth on the depth chart.

Hurd has started preseason games, and Rector has also played against first team defences, and on of them might get cut ( tho I dont get why).

"you have depth at a weakness spot" what in the world does that mean? look your arguments do not make any sense because obviously you have a biased against the boys and you are madd that T.O. will rack up 4 touchdowns against your team this season, Hurd and Rector are trash and there is no depth?? that makes a lot of sense since all the experts are saying Dallas has great depth and teams keep calling and asking trades for players that would not start on our roster but start on theirs, example Sean Ryan, Scott Shanle, Scott Fujita, Lynn Scott, Larry Allen
and by the way here is a fact, Terry Glenn and Jamaica Rector are among top 10 (Glenn 2, Rector 8) receivers in stats in this preseason while Phily has none in the top 30
