this thread is for Dallas Cowboys fans, so elaments and a few others keep that in mind please. and also realize this is most likely NOT going to be interesting if youre not a Cowboys fan so please hold yourself from TT too much.
i just thought since Bill has us in hostage mode and nothing new was really happening, that we could grade our team as it stands. player by player. and because im REALLY ****ing bored.
heres mine:
Offense
QB
Romo- A: probably the only bright spot on the entire roster, brought fire to the team and looks like he has a ton of potential
Bledsoe- F: who cares and hes leaving
HB
Julius Jones- D: he broke 1000 yes, despite limited carries; but did anyone else feel like hes lost his fire? hes always pickin up like 2 yards a pop and he just looks like he lost it.
Barber- B: should be the starter. period.
Thompson- C: awesome as our kick returner, might be our fastest guy. we might not have missed him too much on kick returns due to Austin, but he was a nice change up RB at the end of games.
FB
Polite- D: hes ok, missed a lot of blocks
Hoyte- B: he was a good FB but he couldnt stay healthy
TE
Witten- B: Bledsoe lost Witten and Romo found him. he has the best hands and we can always count on him.
Fasano- D: made a couple good plays, like at the end of the Colts game, but he wasn't that good blocking and he wasn't really that effective in the pass game. w/e maybe bc he was a rookie.
WR
Owens- B: Love to hate the guy, but he did lead our team and the league in TDs for WRs. 85 receptions and 1180 yards which is something we havent seen since like Irvin. Was ok at blocking and the team seems to be really behind him. so if he can do all this in one of his "bad years" then Ill keep him
Glenn- A- I think hes still under used and hes our best WR hands down. makes amazing plays/catches all year. we can't really hold a grudge on him for the Seatlle fumble.
Crayton- B: PLEASE STAYYYYYYYY I know Jerry wants him back and so do I. he was solid all year.
Hurd- D: i think hes got potential
Austin - B: Who doesnt like this kid? AWESOME on ST. and went to college at Monmouth which is like 20 minutes away from me. W00t.
RT
Colombo- B: Awesome, I am SO glad we got him.
Fabini- F: what the **** happened to him? he played only when we lined him up in 3 TE sets and still did nothing.
RG
Rivera- F: worst starting player on the team, terrible and I demand a refund.
Proctor/Berger- ?: dunno, we haven't even seen them play really, but I hear Proctor is a pretty good prospect.
C
Gurode- B: can't really complain, he really made strides this season. he went from bust to productive this year; i hope we can resign him.
Johnson- D: too small, we need someone else
LG
Kosier- C: not bad, I think he was fine, he didnt do too well against Philly, Jacksonville, or the NYG. he was alright though. i just wish we had a young LA back.
LT
Flo Adams- D: I think its become a cliche thing to say Flo blows esp. against speedy DEs, and after watching him this year I think he merits that statement. and he should take a pay cut this year.
McQuistan- ?: again, just another guy that really hasn't been able to show us anything yet.
Defense
LE
Spears- F: **** him, hes a ****ing B-U-S-T. either someone needs to light a fire under his *** or something but he didnt do ****. and i will not take the excuse "well Canty and Spears don't need to make sacks in this 3-4 just stop the run" BS. they couldnt put pressure on pop warner team
Coleman- C: I like Coleman. he had a couple good games and he actually moves around unlike Spears. maybe not well enough to be a start but at backup and as a relief he was pretty good.
DT
Ferg- B: Pretty good. I think he did what was asked of him. i think he was our best DLman esp. against the run. But we need another true DT to come in and give him some breaks.
Ratliff- C: anyone else like this guy?! I thought he was the man. he made some plays I think hes too small for DT but i think he could do some damage at DE?
Stanley- ?: didnt play
RE
Canty- F: BUMMMMM: with his size/potential at his position you would think we have a keeper. we dont. just about the only thing he did all season was piss Newman off.
Hatcher- D: he was ok. nothing flashy, but ok in a backup role.
Bowen- ?: played 1 game
OLB
Singleton- F: GET THE **** OFF OUR TEAM ALREADY
Glymph- ?: I thought he could be a good player, he was good in preseason, but thats just preseason i guess.
Ware- A: I love Ware. No need for explanation and I think he earned that #94. but i still miss you haley!
Burnett- C: Ok. Im not sure about Burnett he was awesome in the Colts game and miserable in the Giants game. I think he made some strides in his game and I think he could be a good player.
Ellis- B: For a guy that complained about moving into a new role I think he adjusted well. he made some plays but he was horrible against the pass, too slow. Not sure whats gonna happen to him in the offseason.
Carp- D: was no where all season. had a good game against Seattle, but that was 1 game.
ILB
James- F: bust and i cant believe we just gave him a huge deal. im betting Jerry is not cool about that anymore.
Fowler- D: I couldnt even really grade him either. didnt play that much
Ayodele- B: he was really good, im really glad hes signed with us for a while. cross our fingers and hope hes our next Dat
LCB
Newman- A: most underrated player in the NFL. period. although he did start getting some props this year.
A. Glenn- C: Hes old and small but he plays smart and his size has really yet to be a disadvantage. i love watching him shut down Burress when he lines up on him.
Jones- D: whatever, I keep hearing hows hes good at this and that, but i dont remember him sticking out in any games.
FS
Watkins- D: Im not giving up on him yet but he just seemed like another body out there.
Davis- F: only an F because theres not a grade that goes lower. terrible at FS but awesome on ST
Parrish- ?: is he even a FS guy?
SS
Mr. Roy Williams- C: Roy is such a hard player to grade. I think hes entirely missused on our D. we play a 3-4 with Qbs getting no pressure while our safties are playing cover 2; i think just about any safety in the league would get burned; and he was burned, a lot. but hes hitting is unmatched by anyone and he did lead the team in takeaways and INTs. i would never get rid of Roy, not ever. hes loaded with talent, I think Bill needs to use him differently. On a defense like the Ravens he would ****ing explode; we gotta get rid of this ***** soft defense we play.
Elam- D: We still didnt see enough from him so this grade really doesnt justify anything.
RCB
Henry- D: Overall Henry was terrible this year. Burned, beaten, and embarrassed a lot of the time. Maybe that injury still lingers? or maybe hes thrown at a lot bc Newman is on the other side of the field? either way even JJ is talking about him moving to FS.
Reeves- D: I like Reeves, but he didnt do well when lined up in Henrys spot either.
Butler- ?: didnt really play.
K
Gramatica- B: I thought he was awesome. I hope we bring him back. he seemed excited to play and brought some spark to the team and he did well kicking the ball.
P
McBriar- A: Our MVP. lol Great punter and im glad hes in the Pro Bowl.
Long snapper
LaDouceur- B: Blew in the first Eagles game lol. but I dont think he was noticably bad.
Overall... this team gets an F
totally bummed out this season, esp. in December.
Im cool with Parcells staying as long as we get some new assistants and run things differently on defense. our offense was good with Romo but our defense really brought us down.
Our defense needs to get pressure on QBs, run some stunts and more blitz packages or something; our idea of mixing up blitzes is just moving Ware from right side to left. thats a joke. we need to put on more pressure.
well this is all my opinion, whats yours?

I'm not going to do the whole roster but I'd give Romo a C+. He gets an A when he's on but an F when he's off. Those was a bit more good than bad this season so a C+ it is. B- if I'm feeling generous.

Well, ...
Henry: D
Henry is slow. I think he is better suited to be a free safety. Corner is not his position.
Roy Williams: C-
At times Roy played well, but when he didn't, he was awful at best. He barely gets above a D based on the fact he made some nice plays early in the seaon but not nearly enough from a #1 pick.
Newman: A-
I thought Newman played exceptionally well. Had that one nice PR for a TD, as well. His coverage skills was on point for most of the year. He didn't give up any TD's...maybe one, I'm not sure.
Romo: C, C-
Hordak said it best. When Romo was on, most definitely an A, but when he continued to make the same mistakes, he basically flunked out with an E.

I think that Spears has the potential of being a great player, also with Chris Canty.
I believe the Teams MVP goes to my boy.. D.Ware!

exactly my point about past issues with YOU. stuff you had no idea about and Im not throwing them around, STILL! like you are...I think you need to understand that what you said isnt anything special either. I for one knew full well that Bledsoe was a short term answer given his age, etc...
You didnt say anything outside of that he is a statue and wont win you 9us) a championship. That some of us knew including myself!

I agree on most of that DWoodson. Especially the kicker. I also think Gramatica did well.
I do however still have some faith in JJ and some of the defensive members. I just think they were not coached properly.
