Cowboys to add Davis to offensive lineBy Michael Smith
ESPN.com
The Dallas Cowboys are finalizing an agreement with free agent offensive lineman Leonard Davis, the second pick in the 2001 NFL draft who has played the last six seasons for the Arizona Cardinals.
Davis
Davis, 6-feet-6, 366 pounds, is expected to play either right tackle or right guard for the Cowboys, depending on the resolution of contract talks with current Cowboys right tackle Marc Columbo, an unrestricted free agent the Cowboys hope to re-sign.
Davis' contract is expected to exceed the free agent deals of Bills guard Derrick Dockery (7 years, $49 million) and Browns guard Eric Steinbach (7 years, $49.5 million).
Davis visted the Washington Redskins and was considering a visit to the New York Giants, but decided on the Cowboys due to a desire to stay close to his hometown of Wortham, Texas, just south of Dallas.
Davis was an All-America tackle at the University of Texas, and played his first three seasons at guard for the Cardinals before switching to tackle the last three seasons.

It's the sad state of the NFL. These contracts are crazy. Figured he would get a little more because he can play OT and might. Either way, I still think the Skins ironically enough made the most logical deal with the Fletcher signing. It's the only FA deal I have seen that is realistic.

all I know is the Skins would be roasted for making the same deal... the cowboys were the only team willing to come anywhere close to his demands...
if he plays guard, he will be ok.... he is way to slow to play even RT in today's NFL....

Agreed, can't believe I'd see the day when the Skins are the only ones to get a good deal out of free agency. arty:" class="inlineimg" />

Trust me, the only difference between the deal the Skins offered and the ones the Cowboys offered is guaranteed money. Dallas had more room to play otherwise he would be a Skin today. Don't think the Cowboys won't get roasted once the details come out but does anyone this year eally deserve it. Look at the contracts being handed out this year.
