Outside of the NE game, Hamlin has been a great addition.

Not sure why we wouldn't want to keep him. Especially since Watkins hasn't proven he can be a capable starter yet.

Because he is gonna cost a lot of money to keep, and IMO isnt as good as people make him out to be. He is a good player, dont get me wrong, but not a top level FS like his salary will likley command. Watkins is much more suitable to be a centerfielder, he played much better his second stint as a starter in 2006, and IMO is capable of excelling in that role

I'm agreeing with Grunt on this one. He's a good starter, but I don't really think he's that good for the amount of money he's going to be asking for. They need to sign all of their other deals such as Grunt said with them still being on their rookie deal. If they take the long term deal, well they'll be very deep in the hole.

EDIT: Just thought of this, possibly sign him now?
