Manster's Cowboy Mock 1.0
1a. Mike Jenkins CB
Needs some time but should become a shut down CB. This year he will replace Reeves.
1b. Jonathan Stewart RB
While not the lighting to go with MB3 thunder he is s great value here.
2. DaJuan Morgan S
While most have us taking a WR in the top three none of the guys that would be here would be more than a project at best. While Hamlin should sign the one year deal it seems unlikely that he will sign a long term deal.
3. Mike McGlynn OL
Gives us better depth now and later when Adams and Colombo are not with us
4. Dexter Jackson ST/RB
He will be our KR and PR this year. He could also be a special weapon on offense either working out of the slot or out of the back field.
5. Will Franklin WR
Decent size and good speed. If Glenn does not make it back this year then he could be our deep threat. Has the skills to become a better NFL player than he was a college player.
6. Jack Ikegwuonu CB
Pick for the future. The Cowboys can get a good cover CB late in the draft so when Jenkins takes over for Henry then Ike can take over the nickel spot.
7. Jacob Hester FB
Great guy not a great player. Should be able to be a solid ST guy and backup FB. Garret might be able to find certain ways to use him on offense.
UDFA
Jason Shirley DT Has the size and speed to be a good NG, he must work on his off the field problems.

What if they trade for Pacman, does that change your draft?

Yes some I would have to see what we have to give up to get him to tell you for sure. It depend on how things work out. I have heard that the Commish will not decide if Pacman can come back until camp time but might let a team trade for before hand.

Lets say we give a 4 or 5. Do you still take a cb high, with Newman aging, and Pacmans uncertainty, or do you trade/draft a wr, and go RB.

I would think right now Dallas would trade a 5th this year and next for Pacman they would trade either #22 or #28 for a WR and draft RB and a CB with their other first day picks.

Love this draft, even better than the Draft Tek one Im about to post
I think you are on the money on where we wil be taking a WR, dont know much about Franklin tho. I think Adarius Bowman is another WR to watch in the mid rounds. Any draft that has us getting Jack Ikegwuonu is fine by me. We dont even need to carry him on the roster this year. Let Ball play this year and have those two fight it out in 2009.
Im assuming you have Shirley as a UDFA?

It wount change the draft until pacman is reinstated. so since he wont be reinstated until after the draft we will probably stick with the same plans. having four good corners wont be a problem because we all know that newman and henry will both miss a few games to injury and pacman wont be up to great playing speed until mid season. know way after missing a year he will come in and be the same player is was in week 1.

Alot of people are talking about him trying to get a meeting before the draft, to try and get reinstated.

I think we would still need a CB early, just maybey not n the first.
One good think Pac Man would allow us to do is develop a CB as opposed to drafting one to play now, wheather its a 1st, 2nd or 3rd. Without Pac Man, If Talib and DRC were on the board at 22, you take Talib, becacuse DRC will get destroyed as a rookie in the Nickel. With Pac Man, you can afford to take DRC, who has more upside, and let him develope without playing him too early
