Default TLH: Jerry Jones Has Manlove For Felix Jones, Tashard Choice

The Landry Hat

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones sure has been praising first-round pick Felix Jones a lot. He has even commented on his rear end, showing just how close the ubiquitous owner is to the new guy.

Most recently, he’s called Felix “smooth.”

But he also is high on Tashard Choice, the Cowboys fourth round draft pick. In an article here, Jones says Choice is quickly adapting to the Cowboys offense.

“He’s able to do anything you ask a running back to do,” Jerry Jones said of Choice. “He’s exceptionally smart. He’s got a chance to have a role here. We know that he’s been a very productive back and hopefully he can bring that with him to the NFL.”

So how will these two rookies do competing for a job they both want?

“We have a good relationship,” Felix Jones said. “We met at the [NFL scouting] combine and clicked. He’s somebody I can talk to and relate to. We’re going through the same thing. We’re going to compete out there on the field but in the locker room, we’re friends and we’ll communicate. We talk about things.”

Whatever it takes to get Barber to back down on his contract demands.

Yeah but this is where Jones comes off as a c-bag bringing in players like Owens and Pacman and not paying someone who's done everything asked of him and more with out causing any problems. Give him 4 years big money and seal the tandum of him and Jones/Choice for a few years. We know he could try the market and get the money and years he wants so I hate seeing Jerry be Jerry here with a fan fave like Marrion the Barbarian. Some think its the end of the one back era but it'd be dumb bank on rookies to pick up what a proven stud running back can do for you.

Amen... as long as theres backs like LT and Peterson I'll have to disagree with em. Its a two back league if you don't have a super star is what it comes down to.

plus even in the most lopsided one back systems, it is not uncommon for the other backs to accumulate 100+ carries total on the season. People just think that having a second viable option automatically means it's a two back system. I say that look who is making more money and that guy will get the majority of the carries. It's been like that for years.

In 1998 when Jamal Anderson had 410 carries, the rest of the team still had 106 carries not by him. Also in 1998, when Terrell Davis had over 2000 yards on 392 carries, the rest of the team had 133 rushes. In 2006 when LJ racked up 416 carries to break the record for carries in a season, his team had 97 other rushing attempts. I could go on and on, there is always a complimentary runner or group of runners to the main guy. ALWAYS

How many 100 yard games has Michael Turner had in SD the past few years. 3,4,5?
