The first Denver Broncos minicamp of the off-season is winding down and even though this is technically called a quarterback camp, second year quarterback Jay Cutler has not been the main focus of attention. But make no mistake Cutler is firmly entrenched as the Broncos number one guy.
Cutler replaced Jake Plummer at the end of last season and he showed us just why the Broncos moved up in the draft to get him. And even though it's still early in the off season many of the veterans say Cutler is much better.
Tight end Stephen Alexander said, "He looks great and he's been busting his butt."
Cornerback Champ Bailey added, "He hasn't made any mistakes in practice that I'm knowledgeable of. The guy has grown so much. I just can't wait until preseason to really see what he's got."
Cutler is trying to play down all the attention. Cutler said, "It's still early right now. We're doing some basic stuff and I think it's coming easy to everyone right now."
The current quarterback camp wraps up Thursday. A team minicamp begins next Tuesday.
Well Cutler is right, it's still really early and there doing basic stuff. Still tho he played good last year and if he's showing improvement that's great for the Broncos.
