ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- One receiver is out and another is in as the Broncos made their first regular-season roster shuffle of 2006 on Monday.
In is six-year veteran Quincy Morgan. Out is Charlie Adams, who had made the 53-man roster after being traded by the Broncos to the Dallas Cowboys at the end of training camp, but subsequently returned to Denver after a failed physical voided the trade.
Morgan has only been out of action for just over two weeks, as he was released by the Pittsburgh Steelers at the final cutdown earlier this month after spending the 2005 season with the eventual Super Bowl winners. He averaged 25.3 yards on 23 kickoff returns last fall.
"I feel like I can come right in here and return kicks," Morgan said.
Last year marked his first year working primarily on returns after handling starting duties for most of his three seasons with Cleveland (2001-03) and a one-year sojourn with the Dallas Cowboys (2004). During those four seasons, he started in 52 of the 63 games in which he played, averaging 38.8 receptions, 579 yards and 3.8 touchdowns per season.
With the Steelers, though, he focused on returns. Heading into last year, he'd only tallied 21 total returns -- 10 on punts and 11 on kickoffs. He didn't return any punts last year but ran back 23 kickoffs -- 12 more than he had in the previous four seasons combined -- and notched an average that ranked eighth in the league.
Morgan will wear jersey No. 11.

Well nothing ground breaking, good to know we'll have someone better than Kircus and Bell to return kicks.
