Jake Plummer's Future
Does anyone see Jake Plummer remaining in Denver for another season? A few analysts think its time for Denver to deal him and look for a new quarterback.
He's a great QB and I think he really thrives in Denver under their offensive system with the play action. He would not be as effective anywher else other than Denver in my opinion. I would like to see him stay with the Broncos, because he is championship calibur.

i really think he has to stay. Denver can't shipp him out just because he lost the AFC title game.

Plummer has to go if Denver wants any chance of getting to the Super Bowl... he is fine to get you into the playoffs, but he will never win the Super Bowl IMHO

He played better this year than I thought he would. He has cut back on his mistakes and can play well with in the system. He has problems when he is trying to do to much and looking to make the big play instead of the just a little one. I dont think they will let him go this year, they do not have the next QB waiting in the wings to take over and there are not too many good FA QB's out there. They could try and trade for some one but that carries its own risks.

good point, some people just choke in the playoffs and some can be close to the best ever and still not win a championship. Take Marino or Carter for example.

I hate to say it but you might be right. If he could not get it done this year I dont see them being a better team next year.

The Jake Plummer you saw in the AFCCG is who he really is. He's been like that since his days in Arizona. The reason he looked good (better, anyway) this year was Gary Kubiak. But with Gary goin to the Texans, the Broncos would be smart to dump this guy now. His stock ain't gonna get any highter.

I think now that he knows how to play well, He's not gonna forget all that just because they lose the coordinator. I, for instance, can still ride a bicycle even though my grandmother that taught me how has long since passed on. Give the man another chance, he only had one bad game. Did you all forget how soundly he beat the defending champs a week earlier?

It goes deeper than that. Kubiak was also the Quarterbacks coach. It aint just about teaching technique once. It's about constant work. Plus film study. A new coach will run different drills, and teach differently.
And, I would exactly refer to his play vs New England "beating them soundly". He merely managed not to lose the game. Made some big throws, but against a patchwork secondary. He's been suspect all season.
