Default Broncos improve to 3-3

There are statistics and records, tendencies and assumptions, formulas and guesses.

That's one way to figure out how an NFL game will wind up.

There also is spirit and emotion, blocking and tackling, strategy and execution, on a field, between the lines.

That is the way a game truly is decided.

Down from three consecutive losses, battered from the losses of so many key players, the Broncos nevertheless would not be beaten. They edged the rough, tough, talented and favored Pittsburgh Steelers 31-28 on a chilly Sunday night at Invesco Field at Mile High.

May the doom and gloom be lifted from Dove Valley. The Broncos are not on the verge of collapse. Although all wins are considered big in a 16-game NFL schedule, this was bigger than that.
