dude are you kidding me??? We are bottom of the league in talent and attitude, just because a new coach is brought in its supposed to change overnight?

Hes changing the attitude of this entire team, it was known and expected from the start not everyone is going to accept and buy into that.

Thats why you are seeing all these "superstars" being talked about being traded. We have no one that is untouchable, if they dont wanna work hard, get their asses out of here.

they talked bout it on NFLN and NFL Live. Said Redding was begging the Lions not to franchise him, and to let him hit free agency.

I can't believe you're still buying all of this guy's hype. What has he done to change the attitude of the entire team? Outside of coaches and players saying that it's changed, we've seen all the same things. Hopefully he'll change something in the future, but there's no evidence to suggest that he's making big changes in the program. He sure hasn't changed the 'culture of losing' the media seems to be obsessed with. 3 wins doesn't do a whole lot to change that mindset.

I may be in the minority, but sometimes it's better to have a talented player who doesn't work that hard in practice. If he shows up on Sunday, I don't care what he does during the week. So far, Marinelli has done virtually nothing to get the current players to step their game up and his big success story (Redding) desperately wants off the team.

By the way, I never called any of those guys superstars...Though Marinelli did use that word to describe Shaun "Big Practice" Bodiford...

Jury is still out on Marinelli.. Have to give him another year before we can judge him IMO.

Definitely. The first year in a rebuilding situation is never likely to be pretty.

I'm surprised Lion fans haven't been all over this.

Cory Redding is not livid about having to stay in Detroit, Cory Redding is Livid about being franchise tagged because hes been franchise tagged as a DEFENSIVE TACKLE. This is why detriot franchised him, because they can get a good pass rushing DE, without paying him like a top 5 DE. Since he's been tagged as a DT, he gets top 5 DT money which would probably be less than what he'd get on the open market as most teams would probably consider him a DE and pay him as such.

THis isn't a situatioon where the lions are overpaying an above average player a top 5 salary, this is a situation where Detriot can find a loophole in the system to pay a player a franchise tag salary for a position where the top 5 make considerably less than the position the player actually plays.

If Redding was tagged as a DE, you'd see one happy longhorn.
