Default Drew Stanton, Starter

Quote:
Pro Football Weekly reports that "there is more than one person in the Lions' organization who thinks Drew Stanton is the best quarterback on the roster."
This news jives with a February report from Scout.com and the positive Stanton comments emanating from the Lions offensive coaching staff. Jon Kitna remains the favorite to start Week One, but Stanton could easily supplant him by season's end.

I thought he would have started last season at the end if he wasnt injured.

nice. i think everyone's a little sick of Kitna and his un-fulfilled guarantees.

he just seems like joey harrington who can move around pretty good. Whenever he was pressured or something bad would happen, it would just spiral out of control. not only that but martz fu*ked him up. He changed everything about him, even some of the most elementary things about his delivery, including how he grips the ball. That's not an easy thing to deal with. Martz said he's only "tweaked a few things'' which was bull$hit.

So, while Stanton had to deal with thinking about his new footwork, setup, delivery, grip and release, he also had to have a vice-like grip on the offense, the philosophy, the concepts, the plays, the routes, the route adjustments, the protections, the motions, the shifts, the dropback and the timing. I'm sure there is more things in there, but you get the point.

Now he has a new OC, will this guy continue what martz started or will he allow him to revert to his old style while learning his second nfl offense in 2 years.

I didnt like Stanton as a prospect since he folded in the ND game.

They had absolutlty no excuse for losing that game. With that lead, that momentum and the amount of wind ND had in there face the second half, that was an epic fold job by Stanton

Yea I agree. However, I don't think theres anyone worth taking at 15 if Clady doesn't fall there. Grecco would be a good pick in the 3rd but theres a couple players I would rather see over him.
