Who would be a better insurance policy to Clinton Portis then his actual backup, Ladell Betts? Betts stepped in well last year for him and the Betts-Portis was arguably the most lethal in the league when they were together. Betts is also a good pass catcher (the one area of the game that Portis is bad at) and will provide an emergency KR option (has 80 in his 6-year career including a TD in 2005). This duo will be dangerous, and now they'll be behind an actual not-****ty offensive line too.
Sorry, not a Betts fan. He had some very good games, but I have seen him get PWNED on third and short too many times.

He'll be more a pass catching and change of pace back for me behind Portis, Portis will get 15-20 a game and Betts will get 5-10 with 3-5 catches.
Also some of his bad games were only because he received very few carries in them. In a game where he received 16 carries or more (8 of them) he rushed for 100 yards in all but two of them (20 for 83 and 20 for 92), had a 4.2+ ypc in all of them, and went over 5.0 4 times. The only thing in the running game that Betts lacks is the long gamebreaking run, as in 6 years he's never had a carry over 27 yards and in 2006 had only 6 over 20 yards. But he's a guy you can feed the ball to consistently, and you can expect results in the 4-5 ypc area.

I love my last pick, Matt Jones. The guy is a big, fast, physical receiver. He's proven time after time that he's got great hands. Not only that that, but he is hard to take down. I think a steal in the draft, and a guy with loads of potential

In the first Cowboys game, when Portis was still hurt, he pretty much kept the Skins out of the game by going into a shell every time 3rd and short came up. It just didnt seem he ran the same way on those carries. he had about 90 yards on 20 carries, but his 3rd down failures kept them out of the game
I was going to choose someone else but I noticed he was still available and has proven to be a better runner than the other RB I was going to choose.
Id of taken Barber over Betts.
Betts to me is a bigger version of Orange Julius. He's not going to give you much as a backup, really just a runner. Not bad, but not the role player Barber is. IMO thats what you want out of a backup HB
