Pre-Draft Trade- Do I Pull the Trigger?
Hey guys,
I'm in a 12 team redraft. We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, TE, D, K. Scoring is 6 pts for all TDs, PPR, 1 pt/ 25 passing yds, 1 pt/ 10 rushing/recieving yds.
I have been offered the 2nd pick in the draft and a late round pick for my 2nd and 3rd rounders. This means I'm sitting pretty with Steven Jackson and the 11th overall pick. Should i roll with it.
It really hurts my WRs in a PPR, but Jackson's recieving #s resemble that of a WR3 anyway. Opinions?
Thanks.

i might do it, you basically only lose the third rounder as your first moves up to the #2 and your 2nd moves up to #11, you have to ask yourself is #2 & #11 worth more than #11,#14 & #35, I think it is

I like this deal. I'd probably go with it. S-jax or L.T. in a ppr would do wonders for you. It practically solidifies you in contention.

Thanks Professor, that is a great way to look at this thing. I've been telling myself that I am just losing one pick in the first three rounds, but to twist as I am just losing my third round pick- well that makes sense.

Well I did it and took SJAX,\ at #2 overall and MJD at #11 overall. Maroney was available, but I couldn't pass up the big play potential of this guy. However, there was very few receivers left come round four and we start three. I had the choice between Gates and Boldin (usually I'd take Gates), but i couldn't wait till the end of round five to get my first receiver.
So my team looks like this:
QB: Rivers, Rothlesberger
RB: SJAX, MJD, Tatum, J Jones, Leonard
WR: A Boldin, J Cotchery, V Jackson, Curry, A Gonzaez
TE: McMchael (Heap is available I'm thinking about grabbing him)
D: SD
K: Graham
Did it work out for me? In a PPR, I value Boldin, Cotch and Curry a bit more- but they are still weak. Hopefully Tatum blows up and I can trade him for a decent WR.

looks like you guys ran a straight draft instead of a snake draft, You should have taken Maroney over MJD

Well we ran the snake draft, but I traded away my 2nd and 3rd rounders. With .2 I chose Boldin over Gates for reasons stated above. Its true, leaving Maroney on the table was tough to do, but in my other post opions were pretty split between MJD ad Maroney in a PPR.
Oh well, here's to hoping Fragile Fred and G jones get hurt.
