they would definitely be right up there with players of today no doubt and if you compare the hearts of players of a bygone era, then they would smash today's players by a ton

Then again, Bednarik on HGH and steroids, would be a little frightening. Might have to lock up the women and children...and Frank Gifford.

i like NYG Freak, i will disregard the size issue if everyone else does

I still dont like people drafting 215 pound lineman for alltime teams. I cant get the image of Julius Peppers taking on one of them, when comparing teams.

even though i said i would disregard the size issue its still hard to look past exactly what you said because i feel the same way

Listen like I said, I don't care if weight and size isn't taken into account, just say it before hand, because I got screwed over last year.

so how do you judge talent throwing size out of the window, that makes a some matchups more difficult to rate, imo

Yes it is. But it isn't impossible. Size does help though.

what about proportionally? If someone drafts a dominate DE from the 60's and explains that this person was the absolute fastest to the QB of that era, then we can equate that to a DE of similar skill in today's age. I know it's not concrete or necessarily the best, but does that make sense at least?

i think the only way to do it would be to have two separte drafts - one old and one new and then have a ranking of each 1-whatever and using those seedings have a tournament to be voted on and the winner of each side (old & new) face each other in the ultimate showdown
