Default What position should I play?

Hey there I'm 5-10, 220, my speed isn't great but my strength is very good, what position would be best for me, given my size? I'd prefer defense more than anything.

Hi, welcome to the site!

What level of play are we talking about here? High school, college?

I'm trying for college ball, I do live in Canada, and not sure how much it matters but my university has one of, if not the worst football teams in the college ranks

We do have some Canadian football fans here, so they might be able to give you some good input for Canadian college play.

I would suggest that you play linebacker. In canadian football, you don't really need to be 240 to be good at that position. Just train your tackling skills.

I think someone's size is a bit overrated anyway. Start practice playing the position you want to play (if that means being a QB who can't throw more than 10 yards, so be it), and work with the coaching staff to find the position that best fits you. My roommate is a long snapper, and moved from being a slot receiver and loves the position.

Give Defensive end a try. you dont have to be huge there are a lot of undersized ends. does need quite a bit of work to perfect though. also try fullback and whatever you decide to play run run run
