You heard it here first, Favre is coming back.
My insider at ESPN has informed me that Favre is indeed coming back this year. It has not been made official as of yet, but stay tuned. Again Brett Favre will return this season.

Great news for all Packers fans, bad news for the rest of the NFC North.
Seriously though i look forward to watching him play another year.

LORD FAVRE IS COMING BACK
Although there's been no official announcement, we've been told that Packers quarterback Brett Favre has informed the team that he'll be returning for the 2006 season.
The move means that the Packers almost certainly will not take a quarterback with the fifth overall pick in the draft. Previously, we'd heard that the team would potentially be interested in selecting Matt Leinart, if Favre were to walk away.
Since 2002, the question of whether Favre would or wouldn't retire has been the subject of rampant and regular scrutiny. His return for 2006 means that, barring an unequivocal statement before, during, or after the coming season, we'll get to spend another 12 months or so periodically addressing the same, old, tired issue.

Ain't that the @#$% truth. Oh well. It's great news, and I gotta remind you all I called it about Jan 12th or so...
Now that Favre, Walker, Ferguson, Green, and Murphy are all back, barring another slew of injuries we now OWN the North once again. Might as well start printing division champ shirts now!!!

They still IMO have what it takes to take that division, and maybe easily but this is the NFL and anything can happen.

Brett could set the TD and INT record in the same year.

As long as we won the division, that's fine with me lol.. If any QB could do both like that, it's him. If Walker returns though, INTs won't be a big problem. Favre has for years just thrown the ball as far as he could, the difference is last year we only had one WR fast enough to chase those passes down, and he was always double or triple covered. It should be better with all our WRs back this year.. Give Favre more than one target and the INTs should stop.

he has always been prone to throwing int's, how do you think he got in place to break the record in the first place.

Well of course he does. Like I said, if he's losing a game his usual MO is to get angry and throw the ball as far as he can, which is pretty far, and then stand back and see where it goes. If someone with a yellow helmet catches it, he's back in a good mood. If someone else catches it, he gets even more pissed and throws it just as far the next time, and it becomes a cycle. That's why we have a lot of good WRs. It's not that we're fortunate to have them, it's that we NEED them if we are to chase down the Favre "angry passes" and therefore win games.
In much the same fashion, Hank Aaron for a number of years held the record for striking out. Sometimes the best are also the worst..
