It's not a good situation for he OR the team. He's not going to retire and if the Packers trade him or release him, they're sending a signal out there to future disgruntled employees that the way to get your way is the throw a public hissy fit (see Mike McKenzie). The Packers won't make that mistake again. Green Bay either throws him some financial bone to make him happy, he sits out 10 games and returns for the final 6 to accrue the year of service or the team just stands pat and deals with his whining. Based on the amount of money he'd lose with the second option, the first and third are the most likely.
