JS Online: Notes: Money won't be an object

Bargaining table: Green said in a television interview over the weekend that he wanted to return to the Packers but wouldn't settle for a one-year deal and would test the market if it's necessary to find out what his market value really is.
The Packers and Green have been negotiating for several weeks, but haven't been able to match numbers. Green said he would be a better running back than he was last year because he is more than a year past surgery on a torn right thigh tendon.
"Doc (Patrick) McKenzie basically said the second year would be a better year," Green said in an interview on Time Warner Sports Roundtable with Dennis Krause. "That's what I feel like now. I'm rarin' to go right now."
Green is thought to be seeking a deal worth more than $5 million a year and the Packers appear to be offering much less.
