if any packers fan wants to bet some points respond to this quote i mean if u have the balls to do it
I bet ALL my points on a previous post that the Vikes will beat the Packers. So I'll back up my belief that the Vikes will beat the Packers this season. So I've already put my money where my mouth is.
The Vikings have a slightly superior offensive lineup and has 3 draftees that will prove beneficial: Chad Greenway (OLB from Iowa) who will be the key to rebuilding the linebacker unit of the Vikes (and has speed and can tackle like a mad mofo), Greg Blue (S from Georgia) will be a star for the Vikes on Special Teams and Tarvaris Jackson (QB from Alabama) ... however I will conceed that we won't see much of Jackson for a while. Plus, you can expect to see some major improvement from Troy Williamson. I think the teams are evenly matched when it comes to defense with a slight nudge in favor of the Vikings who have good blockers.
Really, to be honest, I think both teams are evenly matched and I think the game will be one of the better ones. Though neither will win a conference or have a chance at the SB, the game between them will be a great one. You can bet I'll be tuning in.
I do agree with Storm in that it will be a low scoring game. Both teams aren't in the best position right now (in terms of talent, momentum or coaching). I predict the following score:
Vikings: 7
Packers: 3
(and the Vikings have better uniforms)

That was a positional breakdown, not a projected game score.

HA HA HA LOL, he thought it was a score, He didn't even read the whole thread
I disagree with two of your statements storm, vikings have a better DB's, but I feel that way because harris is getting older and I don't think woodson has it anymore. Smoot will get better and sharper and co. are better then GB's. Also I know you put FB and OLind seperate, but for what richardson does, I have to count him as part of the oline. This even's the matchup a little, but the intangibles come into play after that.
both first year head coaches with thier teams.
I think they split the season, and the overall record comes down to the final few weeks.
I will have to disagree with the DB statement Ellis. Smoot was benched last year due to poor play and while Brian Williams may not have been a super start cover corner he was a pretty complete DB, and they couldn't afford to lose him IMO, not this year anyway.
Woodson and Harris will be a nice duo and more importantly they will get Carroll off of the field for 80% of the game. He IMO was a HUGE liability for them last year.
I also think they will split but right now I would give the early edge to the Pack, I think theur D will be better then people think...JMO.
Woodson has been on the decline, IMO, he will prove to be a liability. Smoot is dedicated to upping his game and he doesn't have cry on my shoulder tice around anymore to let him slack. I predict a good season from smoot, he definitely has the talent. I also think that GB defense is better than most give them credit for, but in that area I gotta give the edge to minny. After training camp, I will be able to make a stronger read though.
I was just saying that smoot has the skills and talent and is young, whereas woodson is on the downside of his career. He has had health concerns and if he goes down they are in the same boat as last year.

Yes!! No more Carroll helps our chances a lot. We shouldn't even keep him as a backup. He was the worst starting corner in the league last year, we should just trade him to Buffalo. Woodson may have had problems with performance, but I think he'll be okay. I think he has motivation to perform that he hadn't had in Oakland for a while. Also, he doesn't have to be great. Carroll was our weakest link on defense last year, and Woodson can't be any worse than that.
