I happen to think that Donald Driver has the potential to be a #1 wideout in this league... I have seen him play and he is very underated in my opinion... He could easily be a "true" #1 Reciever in this league by the end of the year...
driver needs a burner on the other side to truly be effective especially in the middle of the field. Also The packers LB's are sweet with barnett and hawk and now this guy taylor and hodge.
I dunno.. Our defense was 7th in the NFL last year, and since then we've added Hawk, Woodson, Allen, and Manuel. I think we'll be just fine there. Our offense could use some help however. Pass-heavy offense+no true #1 WR=another year for INTs.
You were tied for 19th in points allowed pergame. and tied for 17th in touch downs allowed. Short fields helped youre defense alot.

Exactly. Defense should be fine, except that we lost Bates. Hawk, Barrnett, Taylor/Hodge? (We really should run a 3-4) Allen, KGB, Kampman, Woodson, Harris and Manuel. That's the talent to make a top 10 defense quite easily. Offense is hurting though. Favre is just fine, but without two solid WRs he throws a lot of picks, and I only count one this year. Line is unproven, mainly rookies, and with a new blocking scheme to learn as well. We don't even know who's gonna be in the backfield yet, and our TEs were never anything great to begin with. I think we may be good for 2nd in the division, but only because it's a really lousy division. It will be 3-5 years before we see the playoffs again.
your right a 3-4 scheme would fit perfect
we'd have a nice 7 man front 2 nice corners, Safeties... uhh.. still
Storm you've actually revitalized some hope in me
Actually, we signed Marquand Manuel from Seattle, so the safeties have at least improved. As I've said, our concern is not defense. We have a decent DL, a great LB core, and a solid enough secondary, so long as we keep Carroll on the bench. Our concern is an young, unproven OL that might be great, or might just get Green, Gado, and Davenport all hurt again. That, plus Favre overthrowing recievers who are very much not Javon Walker.. Lots of picks. If the line holds well enough for Favre not to force passes and Green/Gado/Davenport to do their work, if we get just one good WR to put opposite Driver, if Bubba starts living up to the hype and if Woodson and Harris both stay healthy so we can put Carroll in the AFL where he belongs, then we take the division. I am a realist though, and that's a lot of if's. I'm saying 6-10.
