Default 3 Signed, 9 To Go..

Article:
http://www.packersnews.com/archives/...26804949.shtml

Excerpts:
For the Green Bay Packers’ 12 draft picks, it’s three signed and nine to go.
The Packers signed safety Tyrone Culver, one of their two sixth-round picks on Tuesday. The Packers signed defensive end Dave Tollefson on June 23 and defensive tackle Johnny Jolly on July 7.
There may be more of a sense of urgency to get all of the players into camp on time this year since a few rookies are projected to be in the starting lineup.
Linebacker A.J. Hawk and guards Daryn Colledge and Jason Spitz are projected starters. Receivers Greg Jenning and Cory Rodgers and linebacker Abdul Hodge also are expected to contribute immediately.
If Thompson is going to have all 12 players in camp on time, he’s likely going to have to sign some of the first-day picks, like Colledge, Jennings, Spitz and Hodge soon so the team can turn its attention to Hawk.

Well I am not one to care about contract specifics, I am delighted to hear Hodge may be starting. That LB core is gonna be sick...

You're right, I can't wait to see who will be starting at linebacker
I hope they move Barnett to the strong side and put Hodge in the middle, assuming hes better than Taylor in camp
Thompson needs to start signing soon me thinks

From what I've read, that's the plan. Barnett strongside, Hawk weakside and Either Hodge or Taylor in the middle. I'm hoping for Hodge myself, but we'll see..

4 down 8 to go

Packers sign fourth-round pick Blackmon

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The Green Bay Packers signed cornerback Will Blackmon on Friday, the second of the team's two fourth-round selections in the NFL draft.

Blackmon, a 6-foot, 198-pound player from Boston College, was the 115th overall selection in the draft.

He is the fourth Green Bay draft selection to sign, joining defensive end Dave Tollefson, defensive tackle Johnny Jolly and safety Tyrone Culver.

Blackmon earned all-conference honors in two separate leagues at two different positions, as a wide receiver in the Atlantic Coast Conference and as a cornerback in the Big East.

I like Blackmon, i think he will be a good corner fo us,I was hoping to get him before the draft and we got him, that was messed up and i also wanted Hodge and was surprised he was there, when green bay announced hodge in the draft i did my happy dance.

I fully agree. Depth at corner is something we have lacked for years anyway, and Ahmad Carroll has never done anything to impress me or justify a first round pick. I am overall very happy with this year's draft.
