This is the part where I get to act like GB's coach again. Well, at least suggest a simple strategy for them to start winning games. First we state the problem: The Pack sucks this year. A lot of people like to blame the QB for all of any given team's problems, so they say Favre should retire. That's not true. The only problem with Favre is that he's old. An old Favre is still better than most young quarterbacks in the league, he plays just fine. The only problem with him being old is that he lacks endurance. He can still throw better than anyone, he still runs and moves around, rushing for yards himself occasionally. The only problem is that come the second half of each game, he gets tired. He starts throwing interceptions, he fumbles the ball, his reaction time slows, and he gets sacked LOTS. Look at scores, the Packers this year have led almost every game going into halftime, but then they blow it. The solution is to use 2 QBs. Favre for the first half to get a good lead, throw some solid passes, not break his all-time starting game streak, and generally just be Favre. Aaron Rodgers could then come in about halfway through the third quarter before Favre's age starts showing. A nicely energized Rodgers could maintain the lead, get some actual NFL experience to be ready for the time when he actually is the starter, gain the love of GB fans and help Favre save a lot of face. I think it's foolproof.
Too bad Sherman's not reading this...
