Default Gado got it!

Samkon Gado has been a really good pick for us. The victory over the Lions on sunday was almost entirely due to him. A 64-yd TD run, a quick-thinking pass to get the ball out of the endzone and prevent a safety, and a number of great runs and catches rounded out a game that wouldn't have been won without him. Also, he now holds the all-time record for yards and touchdowns by a Green Bay rookie RB, and he did it in 7 games not 16. The coaching staff will be sabotaging the team if they don't make Gado the starter next year, whether Ahman Green comes back or not.

You wonder if this guy slipped past all the draft experts just how many other guys like him never get the chance to show what they can do. I know of a few players who either quit or never tried the AFL or NFLE route because they need to make more money than they would have.

Ya, he was quite impressive in that game. I was flipping between the game and some other television shows, but what I saw was great. But do you think the announcers mentioned the fact that the coach didn't think he was an NFL caliber running back enough? In my short time listening, I heard it 3 or 4 times within 5 minutes. I don't think you can name him next year's starter off of just a few good games this year, but if he finishes out the last two games strong, then that would be six good games, which I think is worthy of the starter position.

I heard that too, and it blew my mind. What does a guy have to do to prove himself? Oh well, I expect Coach Sherman will be gone soon enough anyway. You also have to figure in where he came from. He was picked up by the practice squad two weeks before his first NFL start. He has been taken under the wing of offensive coordinator Bates, but that's it. Imagine what he could be if he runs through a training camp and gets the refinement he needs. He will never have the versatility of LT, but i think he could be putting up rushing numbers like Alexander and Barber within a year or two.
