Could Packers snag first-round cornerback?

Just three cornerbacks have been selected in the first 21 picks. Some mock drafts had projected that five cornerbacks could be wiped off the board by this point.

Could Brandon Flowers of Virginia Tech or Mike Jenkins of South Florida last until No. 30 fall to the Packers? If they were available, the Packers would likely snag either one.

Stay tuned. Eight more teams will select ahead of the Packers.

Some good CB's still there at 24 (I'm just not sure it'll be a CB selected).. Dallas will probably take one of them.. I think you just take one and not trade down unless somebody makes a good move for a QB I guess you could do that..

Possible Packer picks as we get closer
By Greg A. Bedard
Saturday, Apr 26 2008, 04:47 PM

Green Bay - After Dallas took Felix Jones and Pittsburgh took Rashard Mendenhall, here are the 10 players the Packers that the Packers could pick as we move closer, in order of best value (in my opinion):

Check them off as each pick is made before the Packers:

CB Mike Jenkins
QB Chad Henne
DE Phillip Merling
DT Kentwan Balmer
CB Antoine Cason
TE John Carlson
TE Dustin Keller
WR Devin Thomas
WR Limas Sweed

Of course, I could be way off.

Three picks before the Packers
By Greg A. Bedard
Saturday, Apr 26 2008, 05:08 PM

Green Bay - OK, it's getting down to it.

Who do you want? And who do you think Ted Thompson will pick?

Both quarterbacks, Chad Henne and Brian Brohm, should be there. The Packers are likely burning up the phones trying to get someone to jump in front of the Dolphins, who will likely take a QB, to select one of them.

I dont care.. trade the pick if you want.. just dont take Henne over Brohm..

Cason just went 27th to San Diego

Packers trade pick to Jets
By Greg A. Bedard
Saturday, Apr 26 2008, 05:24 PM

Green Bay - The Jets wanted a quarterback and the Packer wanted to deal.

Both got their wish. The Jets jump ahead of the Dolphins and will pick either Chad Henne or Brian Brohm. The guess here is Brohm.

The Packers will pick 36th overall -- the fifth pick of the second round.

I dont think it'll be a QB for some reason..

Packers deal down
The Packers won't make a first-round pick after all.

They've traded down from No. 30 to No. 36 with the New York Jets, who likely will grab a quarterback.

According to the draft value chart, that's an 80-point difference, meaning the Packers likely received one of New York's fourth-round picks. UPDATE: The Packers got the later of the Jets' two fourth-round picks, No. 113 overall. That pick -- originally property of New Orleans -- is worth 68 points.
