as a Vikings fan this is great news, but i also think this is going to push Favre into retirement and i really wanted him to come back for another year.
no i really like Brett Favre. He is the best qb of his generation, maybe of all time and it just isn't fair to see the best go out with type of season he had. In a perfect world he should retire after winning the super bowl, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen now.
even if it meant watching against the vikings, I know he had some bad games at minnesota and that must have been fine. He was great in his day, but wasn't as clutch as some might think. He is 11-9 in the playoffs and 2-6 in his last 8 playoff games, one of those a gift from al harris returning a TD against the seahawks.
hey he was Mr. Clutch. He once drove down the field with like 30 seconds on the clock to beat the Vikings and you can say all you want about his playoff record, but he has won a super bowl. There are a lot of great qb of the past and present that can't say that.
He used to be clutch, not anymore and in another thread we were talking about how players need to realize when it's time to hang up the laces and for him it's been time.
