Williams, Thompson Recognized as CFL Players of the Week
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats would like to congratulate quarterback Richie Williams and defensive back Chris Thompson for being named the Canadian Football League's Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.
In his second start of the season, Williams threw for 293 passing yards and three touchdowns, while adding 60 rushing yards on eight carries to lead the Ticats to a 45-21 victory over the Toronto Argonauts.
Thompson recorded three defensive tackles, one special teams tackle, one interception and also laid a highlight-reel hit on Argos receiver Nathan Hoffart in the third quarter of the Ticats win.
This marks the first time Williams and Thompson have been named CFL Players of the Week.
