Texans agree to contract with Putzier

HOUSTON (AP) -- Tight end Jeb Putzier agreed to a contract with the Houston Texans on Tuesday, following coach Gary Kubiak from Denver.

Putzier, an unrestricted free agent, appeared in every game for the Broncos last season, starting four. He had 37 receptions for 481 yards. In four seasons with Denver, the 6-foot-4, 256-pound Putzier had 77 receptions for 1,087 yards and two touchdowns.

Terms of the deal were not immediately available.

Houston hired Kubiak as its new coach in January after 11 seasons as the Broncos' offensive coordinator.

The Texans also agreed to deals with safety Jammal Lord and receiver Donovan Morgan on Tuesday.

putzier was a good blocker for kubiak in denver, it was likely that he would follow kubiak to texas
