excerpt:
The Texans may have a brief franchise history, but they are continuing a legacy of having their draft picks signed before the opening of training camp.
DeMeco Ryans, the second round pick out of Alabama, inked a four-year contract with the Texans last week worth a reported $5 million. According to ProFootballTalk.com, the deal includes a $1.425 million signing bonus and playtime incentives worth another $1.125 million.
To date, the team's only blemish in getting all of their draft picks signed before training camp came just one year ago. Defensive lineman Travis Johnson, the team's first round pick, missed just three practices over two days before signing his rookie contract.
