saying "omg we didnt get vince young/reggie bush" over and over again doesnt get anybody anywhere. i didn't like the decision, but i'll at least give the dude a chance, sheesh. i'm just hoping he stays healthy.

Normally it's pretty unfair to go back and

at a FO for ****ing up a draft only in hindsight, because at the time it seemed like they made some good picks. But in this case, if Mario busts (verdict is still out, he could still end up being pretty good) this is one of those examples where everyone can say "I told you so."

everyone is in love with vince young... the texans put in an bonus on carr that extended his contract and paid him a **** load.. so young would not have been taken no matter what. As for reggie bush i would have taken him over williams too but bush has to prove to me he can be an everydown back. Texans made a mistake but if williams had went anywhere besides #1 no one would be bashing on him.

yeah, because he wouldn't have been taken ahead of the consensus guy.

see thats what I dont understand. If Mario had been taken #2 overall.. no one (or at least, not NEARLY as many) would be saying hes gonna be a bust. They would undoubtably accept that he had played with an injury for most of the season, rather than ignoring that completely as they are doing now.

Also.. I liked the pick when we made it, and still like it.

In hindsight, I wouldnt have minded getting Vince Young, but I dont regret that we didnt get him. He really wasnt considered to be worthy of the #1 pick at the time. And I really didnt want Bush, and still dont. I think Bush is a great athlete, but not necessarily a great football player. Like Vick.

Not even close.

DT was a big need for us, and Okoye was considered to be a good value pick at #10. Our motive was to address a weakness on the team, not try and cover up a weakness in Mario.
