'Franchise' price goes up for Freeney

As expected, the cost of carrying defensive end Dwight Freeney as an "exclusive franchise'' player has increased for the Indianapolis Colts.
The one-year tender, which Freeney has not signed, increased from $8.644 million to $9.239 million. The latter is the average of the top five players at his position after the first month of the NFL's veteran free agent signing period.
