City aims for 2011 Super Bowl
Indy joins forces with Colts in hopes of landing NFL's ultimate game

City officials and the Indianapolis Colts have joined forces in pursuit of a singular goal: bringing the NFL's 2011 Super Bowl to Lucas Oil Stadium.


Although the quest still is in the preliminary stages, Colts owner Jim Irsay said it is a high priority for everyone involved.
"We're centering in on 2011 and beginning to look at putting a bid package together,'' he said. "That's exciting. That's something I really want to get accomplished.''

Why are they making a new stadium, the RCA dome is nice.

Haven't heard much about the new stadium. But the Superbowl will bring them an estimated 300 million. So that should help a lot. Plus a new stadium will entice the NFL.

I don't like domes. It would be nice if Indy got a new stadium. I wonder if it would be not as loud without a dome. Thats one of the things I love about Qwest field. Its so loud and its very open. And I'm fine with super bowl being there. As long as its not in Florida.

it isnt very open, its a partial dome, lambeu feild is very open.
