I dont know that he was the "clear cut choice" but playing QB in the NFL is gonna get him the most attention from casual NFL fans, which equals votes. He took a team that started 0-5 and was third from worst in the league the previous season to 8-8, within one game of the playoffs and even beat the eventual superbowl champs. Not bad for a guy who most thought would never do anything. The ROY award probably could have went to someone else, but you cant blame people for voting for the guy. Hes just flat out fun to watch, Titans fan or not.
