The big issue for me is that unlike last year, the Colts don't have the ammunition (because we've already given up next year's first for Ugoh) to go out and fix this. Brock and Pitcock are going to be below average compared to the rest of the league (although I like both players). Plus we have next to no depth following them (Darrell Reid, Klecko?). If Glenn's retirement has opened up a bit of cap space, I would be all for going out and signing any kind of verteran player recently cut or still out there (Tony Williams, Lionel Dalton? I'm not impressed with either) Maybe a trade involving our 3rd or 4th rounder next year...

I'm just saying, a couple of weeks after the Super Bowl everybody seemed to think the Bears were melting down from that dumb *** Super Bowl loser jinx, when really the only thing that happened was the Thomas Jones trade which was going to happen anyway. Now off the top of my head the Colts lose a starting tackle and another big piece of their line that already had no margin for error.

Last time I checked they still had the best quarterback ever to play the game. Peyton manning makes this 1rst week bye team every year even when the run defense was last in the whole league (like it was last year)

Dude if that run defense didn't fix itself at the exact moment it did, Peyton spends another offseason being pissed about not having a ring and worrying about being the second coming of Marino. Greatest QB of all time isn't even enough to overcome that, and for proof, see everything in Peyton's career up until 2006.

I'd take him after week 8 but he can't help Indy the first 8 games.

Why do you say that. they were arguably the best team in football the entire regular season with that garbage run defense.....WHy? one reason. number 18

Sure, they were the best regular season of all time, same thing in 2005, and 2004, and...
The almighty Peyton, best QB or not, can't do it all, even Colts fans will tell you they started to waver when the Colts started looking like pretenders and were afraid of seeing yet another playoff bounce. His team finally stepped it up, and look what happens.

Which DT would the Colts have gone after with next year's 1st rounder? None.
We can still make a deal for someone with our other picks. Will we? That's yet to be determined. I hope we do. We didn't have much depth to begin with and it just got a bit more shallow.
We're going to need the guys already on the roster to step up big time. Don't know if any are capable. There's a lot riding on Pitcock's shoulders now.

I'll let you in on a little secret... The whole "mannng chokes in the playoffs" bit....yeah, it never existed.
Quite buying media hype. Alex Rodriguez never choked in the clutch and neither did peyton manning...see the reality that guys like that are simply professional athletes and aren't effected by what you and I call "pressure"
