flag football
i play at ref flag football at FGCU, i have been playing for 2 years now, the one thing i can say about making team for the first time is, don't expect to go in there and win the whole thing your first season. It took me 2 years to win my first blue mug, which is what we give to the winner.
I would recommend that you run a throw back QB, basically you have one person lined up behind center, then another person about 5 yards from the sideline, that way if the rush is coming in to fast, you can throw backwards to your other man. Then he has the option to run or throw the ball. Combine that with alot of reverses, hook and ladders, and some options and you should be able to move the ball pretty well.
As for drills, there is not to much to do other than just getting out and running plays. One thing I like to do though, make a box that is about 10 ft wide x 15 ft deep. Have one defender start at one side, and have an offensive player start at the other. The offensive player has one objective, get past the defender without flag guarding or getting your flag pulled. The defender just has to play the flag. It works on pulling flags, and juking defenders.
As for the QB, i would say just practice alot of throwing the ball on the run. You will never get an easy throw.
