Jaguars defensive end Reggie Hayward ruptured his left Achilles' tendon Sunday against Dallas and will have season-ending surgery.

Hayward pulled up lame early in the third quarter and had to be helped off the field. Hayward led the team with 8 1/2 sacks and 59 quarterback pressures last season. He also had 47 tackles and two forced fumbles.

Very big loss. But we still performed well without him after he went out. Hopefully he recovers well and we can keep up our performance.

That is a huge loss, but the defensive line is still very good along with that front 7.

That sucks, a ruptured achillies...it doesnt get much worse than that when it comes to a leg injury.

Granted he was a big part of thier line, but this doesn't hurt as much as people think, their defense is solid all the way around and they will have spicer among others step up.

Yeh thats exactly what I think. Stroud and Peterson will still anchor that line and Peterson looked good despite being hurt.

The two gus that replaced him looked as well, spicer and the other guy. I think they got two sacks. That defense will be fine.

I dont think that the Jags will have to worry about the pass rush to much because they are developing into a great pass defense.
