JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Cornerback Ahmad Carroll agreed to
terms with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Tuesday, a week after he was
waived by the Green Bay Packers.

Carroll was expected to sign a contract Wednesday, giving the
Jaguars depth behind starters Rashean Mathis and Brian Williams and
nickel back Terry Cousin. Backup cornerback Scott Starks sprained
an ankle against the New York Jets on Sunday, but he wasn't
expected to miss any games.

The Packers waived Carroll less than 24 hours after his
inconsistent performance against Philadelphia on Oct. 2.

He has potential. We'll see though. I'd rather sign a LB.

I really expected to see him in Oakland, but who cares. Like I said in another thread, as long as he's not wearing green anymore I am happy. Jacksonville better hope no one gets hurt and makes him have to play though. They are a solid playoff pick, but that could all change very quickly..

He only got signed cause our 4th CB is out. Which seems retarded since we need a LB to replace Peterson. But then again maybe our current LB's are good enough to fll the void. Carroll won't play much though. But with some good coaching which Green Bay doesn't have maybe he can live up to his potential. Because he does have that.

I agree with you on coaching, and especially defensive coaching. However, Carroll has been given every opportunity to show this "potential", and all he's done is get burned, penalized, suspended, fined, and arrested. There's only so much that can be blamed on coaches, and Carroll has far exceeded that. He was just another Sherman draft blunder, and the defensive first-round bust of the decade if not all time. Good luck with him, but don't get your hopes up.

I'm not. Trust me. But you can see the potential there. He's fast, and pretty athletic. Maybe we can fix him up into a good player. If not, he'll be cut and that'll be the end of it. I mean, I highly doubt we signed him to that big of a contract.
