Ultimate Jaguars Newsroom: Stroud waiting on NFL ruling
The Jaguars haven't received official word from the NFL regarding the possible suspension of defensive tackle Marcus Stroud, who last week learned that he might have violated the league's steroids and related substances policy.
Without official notification from the NFL, Stroud will be available to play Sunday when the Jaguars visit the New Orleans Saints.
"I don't want to say anything until I hear something from the league," Stroud said Friday, before he politely declined to comment further.
Stroud and the Jaguars await results from the "B" sample of his test. A league source said the Jaguars expected to receive results by Friday or early next week at the latest.
"There is nothing to report today," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said.
If the Jaguars receive a positive result on Stroud's "B" sample, he'll be suspended for four games. Under the NFL's collective bargaining agreement, Stroud has the right to appeal.
Stroud, listed as probable on the Jaguars' injury report with a thigh injury, fully participated in Friday's workout and is expected to start Sunday.
