Disappointment was written on his face, but Fred Taylor said neither he nor the Jaguars will suffer a hangover from the team not having a player elected to the Pro Bowl.

“We know what’s in front of us. That milk is spilled already. There’s nothing I can do about it,” Taylor told reporters on Wednesday.

The Jaguars enter the final two games of the regular season needing only one win to clinch the number five seed in the AFC playoffs. They can do that this Sunday against the visiting Oakland Raiders.

“In the past, we used to shy away from saying the word playoffs, but you have to know what’s in front of you,” Taylor said.

“I grew up a Raiders fans,” coach Jack Del Rio said. “They’re coming to town and they stand in the way of us clinching a playoff berth.”

Del Rio also denied the potential for a letdown this Sunday, a week after the Jaguars’ rousing win in Pittsburgh.

“For us, it’s still about team and winning games. We’ll keep our focus on that,” Del Rio said, referring to the Jaguars’ Pro-Bowl disappointment. “The feeling Fred got in Pittsburgh when the team rallied around him and chanted his name, that’s the feeling you want.”

Quarterback David Garrard said he has nothing lavish planned for his postgame fashion statement. Garrard came to his postgame interview with the media this past Sunday wearing an outfit he said was inspired by the movie “American Gangster.” Garrard wore a black fedora to punctuate the ensemble.

“It might’ve been a little different had we lost. I wouldn’t have put it on had we lost. That’s a winner’s hat,” Garrard said.

“I don’t think it’s going to be too big a shocker,” he said of this week’s outfit. “I think it’s just going to be a nice, normal suit. I like fashion.”

Garrard is a second alternate at quarterback on the AFC team. He said he was not disappointed that he wasn’t selected to play in the Pro Bowl.

“I feel like it was just the other day I was named the starter,” he said. “It’s all right. We’re going to move on and play football. The goal is to move into the playoffs and do something special.”

He may have a hat already picked out for that day.
