Default Chiefs interested in Michael Bennett

http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansas...s/14614699.htm

■ HELP AT RUNNING BACK: Coach Herm Edwards said the Chiefs have talked with New Orleans about a trade for running back Michael Bennett.

“They called us and we talked,” Edwards said. “That’s what everybody does. We talked about certain scenarios. We have to explore all of our options.”

With Priest Holmes’ return uncertain, the Chiefs have only Quentin Griffin as a proven backup for Larry Johnson. The diminutive Griffin is versatile, but probably not big enough to play every day week in and week out if the Chiefs lose Johnson for an extended period.

“We’re not panicking by any stretch of the imagination,” Edwards said. “We have a lot of time to decide whether we need another running back. We don’t have to decide that today. Training camp is not until July.”

Bennett seems popular lately, damn. KC would be an entirely better situation than NO though for Bennett, so I'd go for that deal if I was him.

I agree, I heard a lot last year that anybody even michael bennett could run behind that line and if this deal goes through, then we would get to see if that is true. LOL

from a Michael Bennet stand point i would do it. He isn't going to get any playing time behind Bush and Duece or LJ and Priest. But at least in KC he can win.

i agree .. but i think Bennet wants at least some playing time, which he will not get in KC for sure.. i think he has a better chance in New Orleans to get the playing time he wants..

how is he going to get the playing time in NO as opposed to KC, In new orleans deuce is healthy and bush is the man coming in. In KC, priest hasn't even been medically cleared to play and they also lost richardson. So, not only will he have a chance to win more in KC, he seemingly would have a chance to play more.

I agree and who knows if Priest will ever come back.
