Drummond signs with KC Chiefs

Kansas City Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Sunday that the club has agreed to terms of a one-year contract with free agent WR Eddie Drummond. As per Chiefs policy, no other terms of the agreement was made available.
Drummond (5-9, 188) played in 52 games (one start) during his five-year career (2002-06) with Detroit. He caught four passes for seven yards and rushed eight times for 49 yards. The one-time Pro Bowler has 108 punt returns for 1,058 yards (9.8 avg.) with four TDs and 213 kick returns for 5,026 yards (23.6 avg.) with six TDs. He originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with Detroit in 2002.
The six-year veteran returned 28 punts for 296 yards (10.6 avg.) and 62 kickoffs for 1,349 yards (21.8 avg.) a year ago. Drummond enjoyed his best season in 2004 when he took back 41 kickoffs for 1,092 yards (26.6 avg.) with two TDs and 24 punts for 316 yards (13.2 avg.) with two TDs. He tied an NFL record with four combined kick returns TDs to a Pro Bowl invite.
Drummond recorded 71 receptions for 1,132 yards for five TDs and 40 carries for 272 yards with a TD as a four-year letterwinner at Penn State. He was a prep standout at Linsly High School in Wheeling, West Virginia where he accumulated 5,279 career all-purpose yards.
