also, a problem is when you are just posting and posting, it doesn't update your last time visited, but if you look at one post too long or post a really long post, the updater acts as though you have left updates your last time here and thus a bunch of posts that are new are lost. If they could keep that last time visited true to the LAST time you were here, it would help eliminate some of the problem

What i do to counter that is to keep the new posts thread in a seperate page, and just open the threads in a new page each time if my New Posts are lost.

using >>> Quick Links >>>> Latest Posts and remembering the time is easier than that, I have tried it and I really don't like having multiple windows open, I like tabbed browsing

yeah but roy as you are going through the new posts, sometimes it updates the last time you were here to the current time and then when you hit new posts again, some are lost, that is why I use latest posts in conjunction with new posts

I do have another question. Is there a way to keep posts that I haven't read "unread" after logging out? It seems like all posts are "read" after logging out.
When you log in...Go to the banner at the top of the site, click on "new posts" that should do it for you.

When you log off it automatically clears all of them. He wants to make sure he gets to see any new posts when that happens...
