Ok, so I'm trying to turn off e-mail notification of subscribed threads but I can't seem to get it right. I keep getting several posts every few minutes. How do I stop this, does it take a while to take effect? Cuz it's really annoying.

Go into Edit options and uncheck the box, once you do that go all the way to the bottom and click "save" it may take a couple minutes to take effect. When I did it I was forgetting to click save and it was driving me crazy.
