Contract talks between the Dolphins and first-round draft pick Jason Allen have yet to develop, but the safety's agent said Wednesday he expects more discussions next week.

Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga has stressed in recent months he would not tolerate any rookies holding out from camp, which begins July 29. Agent Mitch Frankel does not anticipate any such issues.

Allen, the 16th overall selection in April’s draft, also recently underwent a very minor arthroscopic knee surgery this month. However, Frankel stressed the surgery was not the result of any new injuries.

Instead, Allen had been playing on the same knee last season as well as all of the Dolphins’ recent training camps. The Dolphins simply saw this month as the most appropriate time to have the knee scoped.

with allen coming back from an injury, he needs to get in as fast as he can and show that he can play at the top level, he really has no bargaining chips.
