Roth made a seamless transition from defensive end to strongside linebacker last summer, finishing with 53 tackles and a career-high five sacks. And that was accomplished while playing with a torn groin muscle that he had surgically repaired in March.
"The second year I'm more comfortable,'' Roth said of the position switch. "Getting healthy was the main thing.''
"It's nothing new. It's pretty similar, the same techniques. You got to pass rush and stop the run with the only thing different the pass coverage. It's football, always football. Linebacker, defensive end, it's the same thing.''
